Last meals of prisoners executed in the United States in 2017 (list does not include those from Texas as they do not get a special last meal request; also omitting prisoners who were served the same meal as prison population):

Mark Christeson, MO, 1/31 - Bacon cheeseburger, fries, a piece of pecan pie, and a cola
Don Davis Jr., AR, 4/18 - Fried chicken, rolls, great Northern beans, mashed potatoes, strawberry cake, and fruit punch (Davis Jr. was granted a stay of execution after his last meal had been consumed.)
Ledell Lee, AR, 4/21 - Opted for communion in place of last meal (Lee is the first lethal injection execution in AR since 2005).
Marcell Williams, AR, 4/24 - Three pieces of fried chicken, banana pudding, nachos with chili cheese and jalapeno peppers, two Mountain Dews, and potato logs with ketchup
Jack Jones Jr., AR, 4/24 - Three pieces of fried chicken, potato logs with tartar sauce, beef jerky bites, three Butterfinger bars, one chocolate milkshake with Butterfinger pieces, and fruit punch
Kenneth Williams, AR, 4/27 - Opted for communion in place of last meal.
J.W. 'Boy' Ledford Jr., GA, 5/17 - Filet mignon wrapped in bacon with pepper jack cheese, large french fries, 10 chicken tenders with sauce, fried pork chops, a blooming onion, pecan pie with vanilla ice cream, sherbet, and a Sprite (The meal was 5,000 calories.)

Last Meals 2016

A friend of mine (in having a casual conversation about supernatural creatures) gave me a great idea for a story that I'm working on, which may be my project for this year's NaNoWriMo competition.

I don't want to discuss it TOO much until I get everything on paper, but here's a little summary: Young woman becomes a vampire, ends up working as a butcher with ghouls as her assistants. Hilarity ensues.

Someone posted this video in an LJ community. Personally, I think it's an interesting concept but I don't think I'd do it myself.

The idea is to give the baker some notice from your doctor stating what the gender of your child is going to be and the inside of the cake is either pink or blue. When you cut into it, you'll know what your baby's gender will be. Example:


There are lots of videos for "gender reveal parties" on YouTube. Watching them puts this nightmare scenario in my head - what if the child is born and they discover the child is a hermaphrodite? What if you're having twins or triplets or more - that's gonna be a pretty big cake order!

Here’s a chance for a little interactivity for all the bloggers out there. Below is a list of 100 things that I think every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their life. Planned Parenthood disclosed that last year, their 800+ locations performed 300,000 abortions. That's over 1/4 million lives lost.

I wonder how many of those children were aborted out of medical necessity or because of rape or how many could have been saved and put up for adoption.
